Berkley (they/them and she/her) has a Masters in Fine Arts with a focus on creative writing, twenty years of mindfulness practice, and a decade of teaching, coaching, and facilitation experience, and five years of work as a community crisis responder. She has been blending these practices with nervous system regulation and somatic healing since 2015 and is an Organic Intelligence® Expert and Mentor. Additionally, she has completed Kathy Kain’s somatic touch training for trauma therapists. Through decades of social justice organizing, Berkley has come to see embodied healing as essential to sustaining powerful movements for liberation and transformation. Their mindfulness practice, and training in neuroscience, nervous system regulation, and this compassion-based clinical approach have given them a powerful sense of our human physiology’s capacity to restore balance and coherence. Everyone deserves a sense of agency and wholeness! And it’s needed to transform our societal, economic, and ecological systems as well.
Berkley is body positive; poly, kink, queer, and trans friendly; and brings an awareness of the relationship between oppression and trauma. They are passionate about working with teachers, activists, artists, parents, helping professionals, first responders, survivors, people living with chronic illness, and anyone looking for compassionate and intuitive support.
Somatic and nervous system based approaches support increased sense of agency and capacity for goals such as feeling embodied, relationally secure, safe, connected, and aligned with life purpose. I have experience supporting clients to be in compassionate relationship with and/ transform:
